We all know that carrots are good for our teeth and our vision. We were told at a young age to eat carrots so we can have good eyesight. If you grew up during my time period, you grew up with Bugs Bunny, always munching on carrots. I love carrots, raw and cooked. I especially love them cooked with some raw cane sugar and cinnamon, just like yams.
But did you know that carrots are a superfood? No? Well let me tell you.
- prevents cancer by a naturally produced pesticide called falcarinol. It keeps the carrots from developing fungal diseases
- slows down aging with beta-carotene
- the vitamin A and antioxidants protect the skin from damages due to prolonged periods in the sun
- they prevent infections – used them raw, mashed, or boiled on cuts or abrasions on the skin.
- prevents heart disease
- cleanses the body
- protects teeth and gums
- prevents stroke
I’m sure like me, you all did not know that carrots packed so many health benefits and disease fighting qualities. Next time you’re in the store, pick up some carrots. Thank me later!
