Hurricane Harvey: The Disaster of a Lifetime & How You Can Help

In my last post on the storm, I talked about how grateful I was that it did not damage my parent’s house. Today, I was finally able to go home to see that there was no damage done to my apartment. I stopped watching the news because it became so heartbreaking to see how much people have lost. So many people have not been able to go home, and possibly never will be.

As I watched all the people at the George R. Brown Convention Center and NRG Stadium, and wondered if any of my students were there and how many. School has been delayed a week, September 5 being the new first day of school. This disaster will take months, if not years, to repair. Some damage is irreparable, more so emotional, mental, and physical damage.

If you are looking for ways to volunteer or donate, below are some places you can go.
